jennifer & malia welcome home husband/daddy!

mark just returned from deployment with the usmc and i had the honor of doing a family session with them for the first time.  jennifer and i had so much fun during her maternity session and she was able to send mark the images while he was deployed.  thankfully mark was able to be home for a couple days when malia was born but had to return to his duties before malia's newborn session with us.

welcome home mark and thank you for serving!

melissa & david - selma nc engagement photography

melissa and i go way back... we danced at the same studio in pine level growing up! as you can see melissa has one of the most amazing smiles i have ever seen and the way her and david look at each other is so sweet!  they looked so amazing for their engagement photos we teased them about being belk and banana republic models.

some of their photos are in downtown wilmington, a place they both love, while the rest of them are taken at melissa's family farm.  we had so much fun with these two and can't wait to photograph their wedding this october!

baby kaden - nc newborn photography

bridget has been a close friend since our freshman year of high school, when we had typing class together.  since there weren't enough computers in the classroom, bridget and i had the pleasure of sitting on one of the tables and goofing off the entire time.  and thus began our friendship.

we even went to the same college, had several classes together, and were roommates in the dorm our freshman year!  we have so many wonderful memories together.

we've both lived away from "home" for many years now and sadly went way too long without seeing each other!  it always seemed we visited home at different times, even around the holidays.

well we are both back in nc and only about 1.5 hours apart!!  i'm so happy to reconnect with her and her hubby evan.  the two of them welcomed their first born, kaden, into this world on may 21st of this year.

i was able to visit shortly after kaden was born to capture a few newborn images.  i hope you enjoy... be sure to leave a comment for bridget & evan to read!

laura beth & brett engagement session - smithfield nc engagement & wedding photography

okay how many of you are facebook addicts??  don't lie.

i'll say it... I AM!!  i have found so many people from my past it is just amazing.  i have really enjoyed reconnecting with so many people and getting caught up on their lives.

one of these young ladies is laura beth white.  she was junior miss selma railroad days in 1995 when i was teen miss... making her my long lost "pageant sister"!  i found her on facebook about the same time these photos were posted (thanks karen)!

so laura beth just finished law school this year and is all grown up!  she is such a beautiful young lady and is engaged to a great guy.  they've discussed getting married in vegas and i shared (on her facebook wall) about a dream i had regarding just that!... and i quote... "so i totally dreamed you got married in vegas (and wore one of those amazing outfits with a 10ft feather on your head) and yeah you flew me out to photograph the whole thing.  there was lots of bling and feathers.  that's about all i remember.  so yeah."  hahahahaha

for the record, i would travel almost anywhere to photograph a wedding... thankfully, laura beth gave me the chance at their engagement photos.  we had so much fun riding around in my xterra together to hit up the spots i wanted to use.  i was inspired by a fav photog of mine for the first couple images...

i was even able to convince this crazy duo to get in the water, which totally made my day!!!!!!

thanks you two for being such good sports and so dang pretty!  ;)
